At the
National Press Club,
outgoing chairman of the
National Endowment for the Arts
John Frohnmayer compared his ouster by President Bush to Munich in
1938. "If the National Endowment for the Arts gets picked off, public
broadcasting is next, and after that research funds for universities,
and after that research funds for science... There will be no end to
it. It's the Sedetenland now, Czechoslovakia next week, and after that
Poland."
