The article featured a dramatic photograph of a surgeon's gloved fingers holding the hand of then-24-week-old Abigail Hasten as it protruded from the womb of her mother, Kelly. The caption read simply, "Dr. Joseph Bruner with Kelly Hasten's uterus."
