An Inclusive Litany

When 13-year-old Brandy Dyer had a severe asthma attack on the bus
coming home from Mount Airy Middle School, 12-year-old Christine
Rhodes shared her prescription inhaler while the bus driver called for
help, making her a hero to the other girl's mother. But under school
rules, she is now regarded as a drug trafficker, and it has been
entered in her records for at least three years. "This is what makes
people not want to help other people," said the girl's mother, Donna
Cianci, adding that under school rules her daughter could have just
as easily been suspended.
