Following a sexual harassment scandal that rocked the U.S. Army,
in which drill instructors and officers faced charges ranging from
rape to sexual harassment perpetrated on their female trainees, Janice
East Grant of the Hartford County branch of the NAACP told the
Washington Post that the Army was focusing on the wrong set
of victims. "I definitely think it's racial, and they're looking
for a scapegoat...
Historically, when black men are involved intimately or sexually with
white women, the black people have been wrongly accused."
