Disability activists are at loggerheads as deaf activists demand
strobe-light fire alarms be required by law, but epileptic
representatives say these will give them seizures. Meanwhile,
wheelchair advocates insist on low-set automated teller machines that
blind activists say wouldn't work for them.
[Ed.: In one case, a retail establishment perched on a steep slope
was forced to install an expensive ramp in order to make it wheelchair
accessible. The store sold nothing but running shoes.]
