An Inclusive Litany
10/9/95
As part of Stanford's new core curriculum there is no graduation
requirement in American History, but students must take courses in
race theory and feminist studies. In Feminist Studies 101, assignments
have included writing (but not necessarily sending) a letter to
parents "coming out as a lesbian." In "The Psychology of Gender,"
which meets one of the new requirements, students went to a local
pizzeria to monitor "gender discrepancies in pizza consumption."
